April 2026
NORTHEAST — After touring five weeks of a seven week stretch of February and March, I have just a handful of shows in the Northeast this spring, and those few spread out in a way that will interfere only minimally with fishing and writing, or sitting in the kitchen playing guitar and looking out the window. This week I'll play two solo shows, the first at the City Winery Loft in New York, NY (4/10), and the second at Harmonie Hall in Philadelphia, PA (4/11). The following weekend I'll be at Bass Hall in Peterborough, NH (4/18), and back at the Zenbarn in Waterbury, VT (4/19) (Lucy Chapin opens). In May we'll return to the Cock'n'Bull in Galway, NY, one of our favorite rooms in the whole darn country (5/22) (Winnie Roy opens, and joins the band on vocals); call for reservations, and for crying out loud, don't miss supper: 518-882-6962. In the first week of June I'll be back at the Word Barn Meadow (6/5) in Exeter, NH.
THE SINGDOWN – in April and May we'll also convene the regulars, and an assortment of surprise guests, at our local bar, Floodwater Brewing Co., in Shelburne Falls, MA., for a Monday and three Sunday nights (4/20, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17 respectively). These are free shows, and we set up in the middle of the bar facing inward, and play through amps on the floor by our chairs, singing through a vocal mic hung from the ceiling on a swivel, taking turns trading up the songs we know and which run the gamut from Blondie to Kenny Rogers, Dire Straits to the Louvin Brothers, Cole Porter to Sade. It's a beer bar, no wine or booze, a tiny little joint right on the river. During business hours it generally contains at least one dog and one baby. I'm pretty sure Zack only opened the place so his Dad would have somewhere to play cribbage. Come visit.
