OCTOBER 2023

HARVEST SUPPER – After a show at the Cock'n Bull in Galway, New York earlier this month, I was sitting around having a late drink with the folks who run the place. I love these people, but their bar is dangerous. They asked me, How come your wife never plays here? I said, I don't know, she's a mystery to me on many levels. They said, Seriously though, we're not even sure she's a real person. I said, What do you guys have going in two weeks?

And that's how I ended up playing the same club twice in one month. My folks are coming out to visit and they told us to go find something to do. So we'll head over the border to play the Annual Harvest Supper at the Cock'n Bull (9/30): a one-microphone, all-acoustic show with steel body reso, and viola, the last day of September. His and hers.

AB/WA/MT– In October I'll play western Canada, up around Calgary where I've never been, with shows at Rig Hand Distillery (10/11), King Eddy (10/12), and two nights at The Windmill (10/13-14) before dropping down into eastern Washington for a show at the Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, WA (10/17) {PLEASE NOTE the Missoula bill with Martha Scanlan at Monks Bar on 10/19 fell through} and returning to The Attic in Livingston (10/20) and One-Legged Magpie (10/21), then finishing the tour at The Covellite Theater in Butte (10/22) (Christy Hays opens). I'll be joined by my pal Eric Heywood, on the pedal steel and electric guitar. If you know any Canadians, tell them we're coming out for a rip.

NM/CO – In November I'll start a tour of New Mexico and Colorado at the Old San Ysidro Church in Corrales, NM (11/10) head north to play San Miguel Chapel in Santa Fe, NM (11/11) and then up into Colorado, starting at The Sherbino Theater in Ridgway (11/14), and playing Globe Hall in Denver (11/15), Steve's Guitars in Carbondale (11/17), Lulu's Downstairs in Manitou Springs (11/18) and Gold Hill Inn in Boulder (11/19). There may be a few things that fill in around the edges.

In December I'll play a couple shows in the Midwest and call it a year. In '24 there will be a new record and full band tours. Plus ice cream, and ponies.
